Vena Energy Donates Over AU$60,000 to Support Humanitarian Efforts in Australia

[Brisbane, Australia] Vena Energy, a leading independent power producer (IPP) of renewable energy in the Asia-Pacific, announced today a donation totaling more than AU$60,000.00 in support of the humanitarian and recovery efforts of communities across Australia who are rebuilding their lives following the devastating wildfires of 2019.

In Australia, Vena Energy’s Tailem Bend Solar Project is just a four-hour drive away from Kangaroo Island, where more than a third of the land has been destroyed by the fire, resulting in the loss of lives, livelihood, infrastructure and endemic species.

The donation consisted of a corporate donation of AU$50,000.00 which were distributed to beneficiaries such as the New South Wales Rural Fire Service, the South Australian County Fire Service – CFS Foundation, and the Queensland Rural Fire Volunteer Brigades Donation Fund. In addition, Vena Energy employees personally donated a total of more than AU$11,000.00 to the Australian Red Cross Disaster Recovery and Relief Fund.

“Since entering the market in 2015, Vena Energy Australia has been actively engaging with and contributing to the local communities and have forged great relationships on-the-ground,” said Mr. Anil Nangia, Head of Vena Energy Australia. “We sincerely hope that this donation will contribute meaningfully towards supporting the brave men and women on the front lines, as well as to rebuilding lives.”

“We are committed to contributing to the fight against climate change, the preservation of natural resources, and above-all the wellbeing of our host communities,” said Nitin Apte, CEO of Vena Energy. “We will continue to work closely with regulators, partners and the communities to further expand on our renewable energy portfolio and accelerate the transition towards a low carbon economy and climate resilient society not just in Australia, but across the Asia-Pacific as well.”
